The interior of the main part of the house survives as designed by
William Atkinson and has well-proportioned rooms with Regency
plaster cornices, panelled doors, and simple marble chimneypieces. Grafted on to this pleasantly undemonstrative background are various antiquarian embellishments, including old carved oak and heraldic decorations reflecting the enthusiasms of Granville Leveson
Gower F.S.A., a characteristic Victorian scholar squire and the historian of his family who was squire of Titsey from 1860 to 1895. Titsey is especially noted for its fine collection of family portraits,
and the visitor is immediately introduced to these in the Entrance Hall.
