The Titsey Herd

Our grass-fed beef is a superior delicacy not to be missed

Established in 2006 with just nine females and one bull, the Titsey herd of pedigree Sussex cattle has grown rapidly and now stands at 120 breeding females and four adult bulls.

A native breed, the prize-winning Sussex cattle are well suited to the land at Titsey and can usually be found grazing in the park as you pass up the driveway towards the house and gardens. An integral part of the estate’s charm and character, the cattle actively help maintain the rolling parkland which provides the stunning backdrop to Titsey Place and Gardens.

Keep your eyes peeled for our local celebrity bull, the importantly named Chapel Poll Admiral 2nd, whose handsome physique meant he was chosen as the male model for a new sign outside the Bull Pub in Limpsfield!

As the herd expands, our breeding animals are in high demand and are regularly sold to other herds. If you fancy a treat, our grass-fed beef is an undoubted luxury and is locally available from the Outwood butcher’s shop and can also be enjoyed on the menu at The Botley Inn, on the Titsey estate.
